Director
Born and raised in Santiago, Chile, Droguett moved to the United States at age twenty-two to continue his study of communications. Establishing himself in New York City, he continued his education in the field of cinematography at New York University. Post-graduation, he gained employment as a producer with BBDO/NY. During his ten-year tenure, he worked on campaigns for such companies as Pepsi, Visa, GE, Lever, Dupont, and Polaroid. Droguett “fell” into the role as director while executive producing with BBDO/NY.
After completion, he moved on to direct documentary cinema projects for Vogue, Time Warner, IBM, Warner Bros, Ralph Lauren, W Magazine, John Barlett, Bill Blass, in addition to others. His philosophy of directing is that clutter and vulgarity can be appreciated, but only when they serve a purpose for art. However, his natural tendency is to avoid both. He prefers only the refined image or object, which is far harder to come by or define.
